Today News Twitter Ad Revenue Sharing Program 2023

Elon Musk was busy processing requests from Twitter followers over the weekend. A recent initiative by the social media platform to share advertising money with creators has begun.

However, not all creators had the opportunity to receive a share of advertising revenue, which was communicated to Musk who changed the rules.

Because his Twitter account was devoted to his beagle, the user was not permitted to make money from it.

“Profiles that feature animals or fictional characters are ineligible unless directly affiliated with your brand or organization. Parody and fan accounts are not eligible for Subscriptions,” read this Twitter’s Help Center page.

Another user requested Musk to “fix” the issue, to which Musk responded: “Consider this silly policy deleted as of now.”

By rewarding content producers for their comments, the ad revenue-sharing program gives Twitter a piece of the advertising money. However, one user expressed his displeasure with Mask regarding the rate limit which prohibited the user from contacting his followers as they reached the threshold.

The user was assured by the musk that the limit will be raised when it responded: “We will increase the rate limit for verified users by 50%. Should take effect within a few hours.”

Only verified users are taken into account because, in theory, these are not bot accounts that can manipulate the system, Musk said in a subsequent tweet.

“As promised. Soon, we will share ad revenue from profile page views, which should roughly double payouts,” he added. “Note, only views from verified users count, as it is otherwise trivial to bot scam the view count.”

The ad revenue sharing program comes as Twitter faces competition from Meta’s launch of Threads, which recently reached 100 million users in less than a week. Threads are closely tied to Instagram, with users of the latter platform able to use the same username and inform their followers that they have created a profile on the microblogging platform.

Threads currently do not serve ads, which gives Twitter an edge. To increase engagement and payouts, Musk’s platform encourages content producers to remain online.
